DineSafe CEO Patrick Quade discussed the impact of crowd-sourced foodborne illness reports on a brand's reputation at the Global Food Safety Initiative conference on February 28, 2019 in Nice, France. He shared the panel with representatives from Ecolab, Starbucks, Dubai Municipality, Metro France, and Wegmans Foods.

The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) is a major international organization that brings together the key actors from the food industry to collaboratively drive continuous improvement in food safety management systems around the world. It achieves this by setting internationally recognized criteria for food safety standards and certifying bodies, as well as facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices among food industry stakeholders. Mike Robach, the current chair of the board for the organization, was most recently the longtime head of food safety for Cargill. Other board members include global leaders from Coco-Cola, McDonald's, Nestle and Amazon.

The attendance at GFSI events and meetings come from various sectors of the food industry, including CEOs, executives, food safety professionals, and experts from around the world. This includes representatives from food manufacturers, retailers, food service companies, certification bodies, government agencies, academia, and consumer organizations.
