The annual Retail Food Protection Seminars are organized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Office of State Cooperative Programs, Division of Retail Food Protection. They partner with state regulatory agencies and food safety associations nationwide. This year’s seminars will be held in:
- Chicago, Illinois – September 11-13, 2024
- Sacramento, California – September 25-27, 2024
- Jacksonville, Florida – October 22-25, 2024
- Burlington, Vermont – November 13-15, 2024
We will attend the seminar in Chicago this year—these seminars invite retail food program managers, standardization officers, regulators, academia, and industry professionals to learn about various topics, including food safety, general environmental health, private wastewater, private water, and issues pertinent to both industry and academia. We are looking forward to speaking at the event and networking with attendees!
The Illinois Environmental Health Association (IEHA), a state-wide, non-profit organization formed in 1950, co-hosts the event being held in Chicago. The IEHA oversees the well-being and health of nearly 13 million people—IEHA’s mission is to advance the Environmental Health Profession and promote sound environmental health practices throughout Illinois. Their membership comprises administrators, environmental health practitioners, sanitarians, and technicians from governmental agencies, educational and healthcare institutions, and industry.
The IEHA aims to promote the highest degree of skill, efficiency, and professional competence among sanitarians and other environmental health professionals through the mutual exchange of knowledge and experience. By fostering continuous learning and skill refinement, the IEHA's ultimate goal is to protect and enhance community health. We commend them for their great work & are looking forward to collectively advancing our knowledge in public health and food safety!
